Vera Playa

Vera playa is a unique naturist resort in the province of Almeria in Southern Spain. It consists of 10 urbanisations of apartments in which you can live a naturist lifestyle all year round. It is not necessary to dress when you go out of your urbanisation if you are going to the naturist beach or the shops within the naturist area.

The naturist beach is approximately 1 km long and stretches from the naturist hotel at one end to past the naturist chiringito at the other. In the summer there are three beach bars (chiringitos) where you can buy drinks and meals without covering up during the day. You are, however, expected to dress after 8pm at night in the bars. There are also public toilets and showers on the beach. From the end of October only one bar on the beach stays open through the winter. Even in the middle of the winter it is usually possible to sunbathe in a sheltered spot for a couple of hours a day, and if it is cloudy it is much warmer than in the UK.

Behind the naturist hotel there is a street containing several bars/restaurants where you can get a reasonable meal for €15 per person including wine and brandy. There are also a couple of night clubs that don’t start until about midnight so you can dance away until the early hours if you like. These are well away from the urbanisations and do not disturb the peace. In general the Spanish people tend to eat their lunch around 2-3 pm and then eat their evening meal about 9-10 pm so many restaurants are geared to this, however those on ‘hotel street’ tend to be open all day and you can eat when you want. Outside of the naturist area there are several other bars and shops near to hand and a short walk (approx 1 km) away. There are several cyber cafes in the area where you can access your e-mail. There is also a water park with flumes and pools just outside the naturist area.
