What is e? e is a small and simple AVI player that displays an animation on screen and runs a program when the user clicks on the animation.What do you need such a program for? Not much really, but it can add class to utilities that pop up requesters or run other programs to remind you of an event. Instead of running the application directly, you can configure it to run e which will display an animation until you want to start the program.

e was originally designed as an extension to another program of mine, NewMail e-mail notifier, but it can be used as an extension to any other program if you like. When used together with NewMail, e will display an animation of a rotating e, indicating that a new e-mail message has arrived. A sample frame from the animation is shown to the right. Formats
supported		 Currently only the uncompressed and Microsoft RLE formats are supported. If you want to use other formats you need to convert the movie to one of the formats that be read by e. There are plenty of AVI converters available from any large software site on the net.
